ESG Due Diligence ESG Reporting
Platinum Equity required environment , health and safety ( EHS ) and environment , social and governance ( ESG ) advice to identify risks and opportunities associated with the proposed acquisition of Farnese Vini , an Italian wine producer that markets wine internationally .
TRC an risk assessment focused on ESG issues material to the industry , including real estate , water supply , waste and wastewater disposal , climate impacts and energy use .
We worked closely with Platinum Equity ’ s legal advisor , Latham & Watkins , to review the data gathered , assess the risk and advise on any issues potentially material to the transaction .
TRC facilitated this client ’ s first-time ESG reporting in conformance to the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board standards for Oil and Gas Refining and Marketing as well as Oil and Gas Midstream . TRC provided the tools to track and complete the reports and provided subject matter expertise and peer benchmarking on the SASB standards and industry best practices . We drafted relevant narrative reporting for Discussion and Analysis responses , coordinated compilation of data requests , reviewed and checked calculations on data received , and documented exceptions / omissions as necessary . We also provided a crossreference matrix tying the SASB responses to GRI , IPIECA and TCFD indicators .
TRC worked collaboratively with Platinum Equity ’ s own operational M & A team , as well as other legal , insurance , commercial and operational advisors throughout the deal process to ensure that Platinum Equity was able to successfully complete its investment in a timely fashion .
