Petrina Butler As a leader in ASCE, I endorse the Society’s three initiatives. Sustainable Infrastructure is one of those initiatives. ASCE is a founding member of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure (ISI), which developed the Envision rating tool. ASCE also publishes a Report Card for America’s Infrastructure, which depicts the condition and performance of the nation’s infrastructure and sees the solution in terms of leadership, sustainability, resiliency, maintenance, and prioritized investment. Spencer Sellner Since becoming a member of the Sustainability Coordinator Network, I have had the pleasure of working with a wide range of dedicated colleagues within the SCN across a large cross-section of TRC’s practices from the East Coast to the West Coast. I have the opportunity to provide our office with the knowledge of how sustainability is great for our business model and the resources needed to make sustainability a focal point going into the future. Stacie Schwartz I have been fascinated with how we can make our cities more sustainable and am currently in a graduate program in NYC called Sustainability in the Urban Environment. Outside of TRC I am on the Emerging Professionals Committee for Urban Green Council - the NYC chapter of the USGBC. I love being a part of a community in NYC where we can discuss our work, share best practices, and continue to learn from one another in order to make our city a better place to live. I am also proud to be on a team at TRC that is working hard to reduce NYC’s environmental impact and supports the city’s sustainability goals. I am involved in sustainability, both in my personal life and in my working life, in order to disseminate that message and to implement initiatives that incrementally contribute to the achievement of those outcomes. Wendy Young As a member of the Sustainability Coordinators Network, I am excited to serve as a liaison between such a meaningful movement and the individuals I see in the office daily. As new colleagues enter our office, I ensure they are aware of and use our re- sources such as recycling bins, used battery bin, and reusable dishes provided in our location. It’s important to me that they not only know that we print on both sides of paper when possible, or that we use environmentally friendly dish soap in our kitchen, but also why we use these practices 43
