TRC’ s executive safety council and safety team developed strategies to target certain hazards within business sectors in an effort to reduce risk based on leading and lagging indicators, and hazard assessments. Focus areas included:
> > Motor vehicle safety- resulting in more than a 30 percent reduction in motor vehicle incidents; > > PureSafety TRC’ s new safety training platform; > > Implementation of iAuditor, an electronic app for performing safety observations; > > Safe catch reporting, maximizing the opportunity to identify and trend data on leading indicators;
> > Subcontractor management, and prequalification safety observations and feedback program to assess safe work practices in the field; and
> > Safety audits to confirm compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
In FY17, our safety program continues to evolve and grow to accommodate new employees and business areas to improve safety performance. We are focusing on vehicle safety, including expansion of our drivers risk assessment program( DRAP), as well as our Hazard Identification program, which includes our safe catch reporting process.
Supporting Employee Wellness
Comprehensive healthcare benefits are provided for our full-time employees, and wellness activities, employee assistance programs, and wellness-related educational resources are available to all.
Our employees are offered the opportunity to participate in wellness challenges via the Aetna Get Active program. In FY16 we also encouraged all enrolled employees to participate in a biometrics survey and wellness screening to provide vital health knowledge and encourage active health management.
Moving forward, we are expanding our approach to wellness to engage all of our employees in active management of health issues, including physical, financial and emotional wellbeing.
