2020 Target

Building Sustainability Connections

In December 2015, TRC conducted our first Employee Sustainability Survey. Results from our survey indicated the following:
> > More than 90 percent of respondents believe TRC’ s commitment to sustainability is important to them personally or professionally
> > Approximately 80 percent of respondents want to learn more about sustainability
> > Over 200 individuals indicated that they wanted to be involved in TRC’ s sustainability program and / or requested targeted information / training.
As a result of our survey findings, we launched our sustainability coordinator network. To promote communications and advance engagement in our sustainability initiatives across the company. Approximately 40 volunteers serve as office and regional representatives within the network, sharing insights and promoting sustainability initiatives.
The network has monthly conference calls, as well as smaller team efforts, focused on developing and sharing best practices. We utilize monthly talking points for meetings; sustainability blog posts and discussion boards; webinars for awareness building; and face-to-face office green teams meetings. Within the network we also have formed workgroups focused on recycling, energy, technical tools, communications, and community engagement initiatives.
We also work with our sustainability advisory services team, which consists of market-facing professionals from various technical practices and business development functions. The team shares market insights and promotes broader awareness via quarterly webinars regarding TRC sustainability services with the goal of driving sustainable solutions for our clients.
