• Health and Safety Training - An effective health and safety management
program includes a comprehensive training program that provides personnel with the knowledge necessary to conduct their work safely. The ultimate
goal of the training program is for every TRC employee to have a personalized
curriculum based on their roles and job responsibilities. As part of the safety
training program, TRC provides detailed training to full-time and part-time
employees. Additionally, TRC has developed our Excellence in Project Management (EPM) training programs for our Project Managers (EPM I) and Senior Project Managers (EPM II) to attend a 2-day offsite meeting that provides
detailed training on Health and Safety, Quality and other attributes of effective
project management.
• Hazard Recognition and Risk Mitigation - A Site-Specific Health and Safety
Plan (HASP) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs) are prepared based on the hazard
recognition and risk assessment. Detailed pre-job project safety planning
occurs prior to starting work and potential safety hazards are identified and
mitigated in the HASP and JSAs.
• Safety Observations - Observations are conducted on TRC and subcontractor
employees on a regular basis and are task-specific. The task observation
criteria are based on the scope of work and the hazards identified in the
site-specific HASP.
• Incident Response and Lessons Learned – TRC’s health and safety program
is designed to help TRC employees understand how to respond to safety
incidents, identify root causes, develop corrective actions and prevent recurrences through lessons learned. Practical solutions to improve behavior and
mitigate safety hazards are develop ed as the result of an incident and communicated to employees through our lessons learned process.
