We were oblivious to the fact that some of the bikers were members of the Bahrain Royal Family , and we only became aware after speaking of some of the political problems of the regions . We felt like idiots although it was very funny . A different world yet remarkably similar at the same time , most of them are travellers like us . We can ’ t wait to host them in our country .
It ’ s easy to describe the Middle East as a desert , nothing else and nothing interesting , yet it would be wrong . It ’ s a land and environment that evokes emotions . In the middle of this arid landscape water would flow freely , tears of joy , tears of emotion .
Dunes blowing across the road , sandstorms impossible to hide from . Every country has it ’ s own unique coastline , where camping wild is easy including an ocean view in your own five-star hotel .
An hour east of Dubai and massive mountains rise as the landscape changes to rough , rocky terrain . Approaching Oman , the scenery is hilly and … amazing ! Passing gorgeous mountains where ‘ wadis ’ ( rivers ) flow , hidden waterfalls with super clean springs appearing after the rainy season or ‘ hariff ’.
Oman was where we reached a milestone . On a white , paradise of an empty beach we reached 200,000 kilometres on the bikes clock . Salalah Beach , where the ‘ 2 ’ appeared in our 93rd country .
Oman , where we became ‘ stuck ’ when borders suddenly closed and flights to Europe and Poland were cancelled . We ’ d known something was happening , yet the media hadn ’ t been clear enough and we were unaware of what to expect .
