rys. “It allowed us to spend uninterrupted time together. “It was a real thrill to spend all our time together and see many things we have only read about or seen on tele- vision.” As Borys went on it became clear that sharing was key; time, experiences, challenges and the love of motorcycles developing between them. A joy that spread across all experiences and a realisation that father and son were enjoying each other’s company without the need for use- less possessions. “We were simply happy with just the bike and the few possessions in our panniers.” Jakub realised that he was discovering more about himself than he could’ve imagined. Travelling on the back of the BMW gave him a new perspective of that around him as he discovered he wasn't passing through the environment, he was becoming a part of it. “The freedom,” answered Jakub when asked about the best part of the ride. “Being able to smell things, some- times pleasant other times extremely unpleasant … like Dads farts.” He laughs as he describes the smell of roadkill and while unpleasant it was an aspect that was an enjoyable part of the experience. Trees, shrubs, dirt and dust were all a part of experiencing the Australian outback and the Nullarbor Plain.
