Make certain you carry all tools that you need for gener-
al maintenance while on the road. For instance, many mo-
torcycles do not come with even the basic tools to take off
the wheels. This can be critical when you have to change
a tyre and need to take off the wheel.
I also carry some lightweight straps in the event that the
bike needs to be strapped down on a ferry or transported
in a truck. My heaviest items are electronics – consolidate
and standardise plugs and charging devices.
TRAVERSE
The lighter the load, the easier it is for the motorcycle to
operate off-road, especially in sand and muddy situations.
Your riding and your motorcycle will thank you for a
lighter load!
