DINING IN

For dessert I had their Mango-chocolate-cheese Martabak. It is like 2-half thick pieces of pancake with mango, cheese and chocolate on the center. It doesn't look appetizing at all. The pancake is burnt; you can see the black portion on the top. The chocolate, cheese and mango don’t taste good together. I did not finish the dessert because of the nasty taste. Overall, I think Martabak needs a lot of improvement. There is nothing spectacular in their food. It doesn't taste authentic. The ambience also is not suitable for friends or family get together. Maybe they can expand the place and improve their chairs, tables and everything inside for a better ambience. I only liked their Beef Curry but not that much that I will visit the café again.

Food

The plating is not that great. It is like eating at a cafeteria. They don’t have the eye for the details. Let’s get back to the food. Even though the plate is not that appetizing, when I took a bite in the beef, it was tender and flavorful. The Nasi Goreng is also yummy and not overcooked. But all in all I can say is that I know I haven't had a lot of exposure to Indonesian cuisine but something tells me that the food didn't taste authentic. It is just like the curries here in the Phillipines, the ones they are serving at the cafeteria or karenderia.
