What's it like in Martabak?
I had my Wednesday lunch at Martabak Café, located Mall of Asia, before my six-hour class. Martabak café is a restaurant that offers Indo-Malay cuisine. When we entered the café, the first thing that I noticed is the very small space. With the small space itself, that cafe tries to make it looks spacious by using the huge mirror. There were about five tables and they were so close together that it's almost impossible to have a private conversation. Colorful pillows are scattered in long chair on the wall. No matter how softly you speak, all the waiters and the other customers are bound to hear you. It was really uncomfortable. The waitress gave us the huge-rectangle menu with a lot of pictures. I think it’s a good thing that there are pictures in it because we don’t know what to order. We checked their menu and we were surprised with their prices. Everything was cheap. I was expecting I would get my wallet empty when we went there.
Ambiance
But I think it is just enough, considering it is a small place and I noticed that there is only one server and a cashier. Everything was cheap. I was expecting I would get my wallet empty when we went there. Their menu is limited; there are only two appetizers in it. Roti canai with curry dip and Martabak telor are their appetizers. We ordered Martabak telor , it’s a chicken roll that was fried. For me, I ordered Beef Curry with Nasi Goreng with Iced tea for my main entrée.
