What made you interested in coaching?

You can probably guess by my answer in the first question by how long I’ve been coaching, it has always been kind of a passion in me and I have just always been really interested in it. I guess I was born with it, even as a child I would read books and I watch people on TV to see how they did things and I tried to learn about it. I also went to meets and loved to watch and listen to the coaches and see what they would say, so its kind of something that god gave me, it’s a gift.”

What are some of the toughest things you encounter when you’re coaching?

“It’s tough when you see somebody work really hard and not come through and always as a coach you want them to get what they deserve. and sometimes its just really hard to see, and you try to get them to learn a lesson through it and help them see that there is some good that comes out of it. Sometimes its hard, in high school, when you see kids who are very talented who don’t really have much home support, and when the home says you have to be home to work so because of it they can’t practice and become as good as they might become.”

“I think that’s really hard to put down to one thing. But rather than the performance it’s what they learn as a person and character, you know that confidence that comes from performing, honesty, ability to work hard, being able to win and lose graciously. I think these things
