A special interview with Madill's very own track coach, Mrs. Maureen Lisle!
How long have you been coaching for?
"I started in 1976 at madill and coached 3 years at queens university before I came to here. But also when I was growing up, as a child, my father built me like a long jump pit, a high jump pit and a shot put circle and I would recruit all the kids in the neighborhood and we would play track and field, and i’d coach them. So I guess I have been coaching a lifetime.”
How did you end up coaching for Madill?
‘I got a job here teaching, and so coaching is a natural extension of teaching for me.”
Did you do track and field in high school/college/university?
“I did as a child, in high school and then I joined a track club in Ottawa. Then I also did it in university as an athlete and then coached”
