Corpoturismo celebrates the World Tourism Day
Under the slogan: Tourism and jobs, a better future for all, the OMT celebrated the World Tourism Day on September 2019. Under this same topic, Corpoturismo, celebrates this important day at Adolfo Mejía Theater.
This event attended The Major (in charge), Pedrito Pereira, representatives of different tourism entreprises, the Tourism Police, Icultur, students of the Program Colegios Amigos del Turismo. The coordinator of the Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management, Yasmira Mercado de Horta, also joined this event together with professors Aníbal Madrid, Roger Agresott and Yina Julio, and some students from 3rd, 7th and 8th semester.
During this celebration, Corpoturismo offered the following conferences: Cartagena de Indias after the Coastal, Presentation of the ProSerena del Mar, a cargo de Rafael Simón del Castillo Protection project. and the final one, Tourism: an Industry that generates employment.
In this space, the attendees knew the importance of all the beach recuperation processes, especially in Bocagrande and La Boquilla, in order to get a future certification. The proposals are related to the carrying capacity and the relocation of street vendors.
Finally, the two last conferences highlighted the importance of Tourism as an engine for economic and social development. The invited speakers motivated the cartageneros to appropriate their city and its tourism, involving the communities in the corporate projects and reinforcing bilingual competences.
