As we kick off 2025, the TSJCL is busily preparing for our five long-awaited Area Conventions. Two months after these exciting competitions, we will come together for our yearly State Convention in April. We can’t wait to see everyone in Houston!
In January, the TSJCL Executive Board convened for the annual Winter Board Meeting at Bellaire High School to discuss arrangements (e.g., the trophy report, anticipated budget, service project, colloquia, registration packet, and contest judging sheets) for State. The TSJCL community is ready to reunite for another season of competition, friendship, and fun!
What is a fun fact about TSJCL?
We just introduced a new graphic arts competition—the Pamphlet Contest! TSJCLers will submit digital artwork, and the winner’s work will be featured on the 2025 State Convention Pamphlet. Special thanks to our 2nd VP, Chloe Wong, for creating this opportunity!

The Ohio delegation has been busy as we prep for our state convention! During our winter planning meeting, we finalized daily themes, as well as colloquia placements. We ran through what we’ve accomplished since our last board meeting in the fall which will be summarized here:
The North, Central, and South Gubernators have hosted their Make A Difference Days, showing OJCL pride by helping our community!
Our Editor has finished the final draft of the Ohio winter Torch
Our Historian ran both the Fall and Winter Photo of the Season as well as photographed our Fall Forum
Our Parliamentarian has been working through sorting through lanyards for convention as well as getting materials ready for nomcom!
Our Treasurer has finalized our spirit themes along with making a spreadsheet to track spirit points; they’ve also planned three fundraising events!
Our Secretary has been busy prepping for convention as of late to make sure the event runs smoothly!
Our 2nd Vice President has been busy organizing the 2VP boxes as well as helping our Gubernators with their MADD! She’s been working on a service record as well.
Our 1st Vice President has been posting on the OJCL instagram, keeping the account active and updating the rest of the JCL on the board’s antics
Our President wrote out the agenda for the winter planning along and is currently planning for convention!
