Salvete omnes,

Since the election of our new state officers, the team has collaborated and worked together to create numerous fantastic plans to enhance the Latin and Classics community of Virginia. Our state convention this past November went incredibly smoothly, and Virginia saw superb attendance by Latin students from all over the state. Our new officers have begun submitting various proposals to our co-chairs in order to improve the Latin experience for different groups of students. During our most recent winter board meeting, we had the opportunity to meet and discuss some of the incredible projects our officers are working on. Notably, several officers have been actively working to secure funding for a scholarship program to allow children, who otherwise wouldn’t be able to attend, to join our state convention. Additionally, we have collaborated with groups to spread knowledge of Classics to a younger audience. We are working towards establishing various programs to partner with elementary schools to introduce Latin and Classics to the next generation.

Today, the Virginia Junior Classical League enjoys great popularity, with over 100 chapters and thousands of delegates. As we progress through the 21st century, the board looks forward to seeing similar growth and success across the state.

VIRGINIA

Salvete, amici!

Our JCL recently finished up our state convention! There were many highlights and fun moments, from some fantastic roll calls to catchy raps to even some heel kicks around the GA room as a coin war punishment! Lots of laughs and overall a very fun time!

We are also very excited about what our newly elected 25-26 board will bring, and we can't wait to spread the classics and host more fun events! Can't wait to see you all at nationals this summer!

What does your state JCL have that you're sure no other JCL does?

Too many inflatable cheeseheads...
