Howdy Amici!
Happy holidays everyone! Over the past several months, I’ve been hard at work planning the spirit and service events for national convention. I am thrilled to announce that this year, as part of my campaign, DIY and propless spirit will finally make their in-person debut at this upcoming convention. All of the spirit and dance themes have been made, and they are as cheesy and fun as ever. I am so excited to see everyone’s unique spin on them! I’ve been working with Alex on planning National Classics Week and establishing Classicalia as an annual tradition. Stay tuned for more news at this now-annual event’s new features! What I’ve loved most of all has been seeing everyone’s submissions for the Club of the Month contest (submissions are due on the last day of every month, so don’t forget to enter!). I want to give an extra special shoutout to The Summit Country Day School for going above and beyond with the theme for COTM this year, going so far as to do their own research and design their own posters; your work was so inspiring! As always, if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected]. I JClove y'all!

Salvete amici!
Happy holidays to any and all of you that celebrate. I personally will be celebrating the eight year anniversary of my introduction to the JCL very soon! In the 4th grade I accompanied my dad to drop my older brother off at his first state forum one day after school. Since then I’ve amassed memories of toga-clad trodding on the sod, all nighters cramming in dorm rooms void of air conditioning, and acquiring priceless friendships that have sustained the duration of my membership. It is because of this long time love for the organization that I am overwhelmingly honored to be your newest Communications Coordinator. Over the coming months I will be working alongside my mentor, the ACL Communications Chair, to update and add to the website. Currently we’re sorting out which CMS to transfer the NJCL domain to.
The months since our board’s election have been a whirlwind. While I’ve adjusted to the office and my duties in taking minutes and running the website contest, a large part of my role as an officer is assisting my peers. Collaborating with my fellow officers on their own initiatives, such as the Torch: U.S. or National Classics Week, has been exhilarating. It’s uncanny to me that so much of my term is already gone, but even so, I am excited for what is to come.
