Salve! I hope everyone has had a fantastic start to 2022 so far! I have been hard at work these past few weeks finishing a lot of my unfinished projects. The biggest of which include the Campaign Corner linked HERE and the Parliamentarians' guide linked HERE. I encourage you all to check those out! I am currently working on finishing up fall and spring planning vlogs which will be released soon! The Campaign Corner is a publication intended to inform individuals interested in running for office, now or in the future, of the election process. I urge you all to consider becoming a candidate because running for national office can be such a rewarding experience.  I also attended our spring planning meeting IN PERSON at the University of Louisiana Lafayette, the site of the 2022 NJCL convention. Through the Waffle House runs and alligator encounters, your NJCL officers planned the best national convention yet. We are so excited to welcome you all in the summer! If you have even an inkling of interest in running for national office, read the Campaign Corner, and please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected]! I am looking forward to hearing from you all!

Salvete amici!

Happy almost-spring! I hope everyone has been keeping warm, and I hope the weather is warmer by the time this Torch is published! I have so much to share with you all. Firstly, the JCL Bookshelf, our publications hub, is up and running and has been updated with national, state, and digital scrapbooks plus resources for historians. You can check it out at www.jclbookshelf.com. To the historians who went the historians’ meeting on February 12, I heartily enjoyed getting to know you all, and I hope you found what we discussed helpful! Please send me your state and local scrapbooks if you haven’t already. And to everyone interested in giving me input for the NJCL Scrapbook (please do, I find it really helpful!), answer this survey. Other than that, I have started planning out the scrapbook video, and I’ve really enjoyed looking through all of your POTM entries! The deadline for March’s POTM contest is on the 31; please, please, please keep the entries coming! And as always, you can reach me at [email protected] if you need to (or if you’d like to say hello!). My inbox is always open!

While I’m more than a little sad that more than half of my term has flown by, at the same time, we are getting ever closer to the first in-person nationals in two years!
