Throughout this past year, the NSCL has seen amazing growth and productivity. We gained 10 new chapters and about 100 new members!
During the year, the website committee updated and maintained the website, with a meme of the week contest, as well as a blog page including posts from SCLers about traveling, state conventions, and officer updates. The 2018-2019 NSCL Board created the new Friendly Handbook of the NSCL, which will serve as a guide for state SCL officers and chapters so that they can write constitutions, create chapters, run events for JCLers, and execute their duties with ease! Editor Jacob Hane did a wonderful job putting together this handbook and created two awesome issues of The Letter of the League as well as five delightfully hilarious issues of The Convention Ear.
Our Parliamentarian, Savannah France, wrote ten constitutional amendments, all of which were passed, and our Secretary, Brianna Jett, made a new and improved system for signing in at SCL GA! Our Treasurer, Jamie Doyle, made sure we had awesome new SCL socks and t-shirts to sell, and our Historian, Ryan Divine, hosted a super cool superhero-themed SCL banquet. The Olympika and Ludi committee updated the Olympika and Ludi rules, and That’s Entertainment! was an absolute hit!
Our newly elected officers are President Alexandra Pasamihalis (NJ), Vice President Jamie Doyle (MA), Secretary Emma Poor (IN), Treasurer Hugo Budd (CA), Parliamentarian Taylor Broadbent (OK), Historian Savannah France (FL), and Editor Kris Plunkett (LA).
The SCL is looking forward to another successful and amazing year!
