Much to my delight, my other two pink pedals are time-based; one analog, one
digital, both delays. Feeding the chaotic chords and unholy circuit speak from
the doom duo of fuzz pedals into the analog delay is awesome, but what is more
intriguing is when the Strymon Dig is at the end, set to Golden Ratio repeats
with a heavy dollop of modulation. The bucket brigade degrading repeats are
perpetuated into the Dig’s pink purgatorial vortex of circular repeats. Holding
down the Tap footswitch on the Strymon engages the static pads of verb-like
sound to layer on top of on the fly. The DM-2W is engaged all the while, keeping
the layering content ambient and interesting without drying up while padding. The
modulation at the end of the chain bends the drones up and down in that Kevin
Shields kind of way, further washing the tonal themes in a big sloshy sink of pink.
