much space. My favorite feature of the Destination Rotation is the footswitchable drive. Kick it in for dramatic saturated rotary shimmer, and leave it off for glistening textures. One drawback is the lack of stereo outputs; if you’re looking for a wide, panoramic sound, this won’t be able to achieve that, unless you feed it into another pedal that has stereo capability. But if simple and straightforward is your thing, give this one a look. If rock star endorsements are your thing, this one has Joe Walsh’s stamp of approval. NEO INSTRUMENTS VENTILATOR/MINI VENTILATOR The Ventilator is a faithful recreation of the famed Leslie 122 rotary speaker. Speed, Acceleration, Balance, Drive and Distance knobs deliver powerful rotary sculpting, and the recessed knobs ensure you won’t knock them around when you’re stomping on your board. This is definitely overbuilt and should last a lifetime barring some sort of gig disaster. The Mini Ventilator features preset rotary speeds and is control-free with only two footswitches for bypass and speed. The latest offering from Neo, Ventilator II, appears to replace both models, as it is streamlined into a smaller package, yet features the robust feature set of the original. Try out all three models if you can and see which you prefer. Though they differ in their controls, they all sound great, and you can’t go wrong with any of them. ToneReport.com 27
