This pedal is special to me because it was
one of my firsts. Truth be told, I didn’t
know a whole lot about it when I bought
it. I found it on eBay many moons ago and
got it for just over $200, a steal compared to the others I saw on the used market. I liked
that the whole pedal lit up and that it had a tube in it. I came to love its warm, lush, subtle
modulation and rich overdrive. I hated chorus pedals at the time, and this seemed to me
a more tasteful, useable type of modulation effect. The streamlined control set features
knobs for Drive, Output and Rotor Balance. A dedicated breaker footswitch allows for
ramping down the effect and another alternates between slow and fast speeds. It’s a rather
clunky pedal and can be a nuisance due to its special power requirements, but I love it.

This is a cool pedal, and not just because
it rhymes. The DR has been around for a
while, and for good reason. It’s simple,
sounds great, and doesn’t take up too
