SUB ‘N” UP OCTAVER It’s about time TC got into the polyphonic octaver game. I’m kind of surprised the company has gone this long without an octave pedal in its lineup, but the wait has definitely been worth it. The Sub ‘N’ Up Octaver has arrived, and it is lovely. It is capable of glistening, polyphonic octave tones with flawless tracking in the modern style, or it can be used in the manner of a classic, monophonic analog octaver, which tends to be a little more glitchy, reckless, and ballsy. It can do a single octave up, for those shimmery sounds, as well as one and two octaves down, for tones that go from simple bass guitar mimicry to full-on, synthstyle subsonic destruction. Each octave has a dedicated blend knob for working up the perfect mix of octave accompaniments, and there’s also a dedicated knob for the dry signal level. A tiny toggle selects polyphonic, classic, or TonePrint modes. With the TonePrint editor you can really get wild, adding modulation sounds to the octave mix for some very unique sounds that won’t be found in other octave stompboxes.  ToneReport.com 15
