BONAFIDE BUFFER This is perhaps the simplest, most utilitarian pedal TC has ever released. In fact, it might not even really be a pedal (assuming that one of characteristics that defines a pedal is the existence of a switch). What the BonaFide Buffer definitely is, though, is a miniscule black box of tonal sweetness, and a surprisingly sophisticated one at that. Its job is to bring life and vibrancy back to your guitar signal after it has run the gauntlet of your pedalboard and the mess of cabling used to hook it all together. In typical TC fashion, the BonaFide accomplishes this task with flair and grace. It will polish up even the most degraded signal that has passed through untold miles of wire, and it will do so very, very quietly, boasting a signal-to-noise ratio of greater than 112dB. It also sports a fail-safe intelligent bypass relay, which automatically switches it into true bypass mode in case of a catastrophic event of some sort. This is the kind of feature that just might save your ass on stage someday. 14 TONE TALK // TC Electronic’s 2016 Industry Takeover
