Unique , Small Town Feel

Invest in web cams in the community so that others can enjoy all Jupiter has to offer
The Town has identified 9 locations for 11 different cameras at various parks and waterfront areas around the Town . In the first quarter of 2022 , the documents for the necessary broadband and electrical infrastructure at each site will be complete , allowing the Town to publish an RFP for the project in order to select a contractor and establish a phasing schedule for installation at the various sites .
Review the issue of medical marijuana in Jupiter
Staff prepared a report and provided a presentation at the May 18 , 2021 Town Council meeting that discussed state legislation and local zoning regulations . The Town Council voted to maintain the current status that prohibits medical marijuana dispensaries within the Town zoning districts .
Review the Town ’ s Historic Preservation Program
A presentation was given at the May 4 , 2021 Town Council meeting that resulted in a review and modification of the Historic Preservation and Grant Program .
Prepare a passport program for the notable destinations in the community so that residents and visitors have access to a more guided experience to all Jupiter has to offer
Phase one of the Passport to Jupiter program launched on January 3 , 2022 . This phase includes a booklet that features 71 locations within Jupiter and its immediate surrounding area that are considered important destinations to residents and visitors . Phase two of the program is underway and involves the creation of an interactive mobile app version of the Passport .
Additional Accomplishments
Town Gateway Improvements and Signage
Approved a contract to install and maintain landscaping on Indiantown Road at the Turnpike exit and Center Street , which was completed in 2021 as well as a contract for a Town entry way sign at the entrance to the Florida Turnpike .
Historic Resources Board Membership
Modified the composition of the Historic Resources Board to include five regular members , two alternate members and adjusted the number of members allowed to be nonresident and layperson . Limited the term of alternate members to one year .
Historic Preservation Grants
Approved historic preservation grants for the Sims House , a historical home located at 322 Center Street and for the circa 1942 historically-designated People ’ s Congregation Church , now a part of the Generation Church campus that is located at 430 Center Street .
Olympic Proclamation Issued a proclamation recognizing Jupiter ’ s Zion Wright for qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics in skateboarding .
