TIME AFTER TIME. Two. | Page 44

There’s definitely more of a political mood in the air at the moment – do you think that could ever influence the music you’re making?

Viva la Corbyn. Up the Corbs.

What do you think about Jeremy Corbyn’s pledges to support independent music venues? (Especially after everything that’s happened with Womanby Street etc.…)

Well, firstly with what they did with “Save Womanby Street” proves that it can be done. So that should be an example to the whole of Britain that just because they say they’re gonna shut it down, doesn’t mean that they can. So firstly, big up “Save Womanby Street”. It can only go from strength to strength if you’ve got a geezer like Jeremy Corbyn to back it as well. So usually, if he says he’s going to do something then he’s going to do it. And it’s all about culture – at the end of the day, if you can’t have culture we’re just going to perish and die in an incestual fucking stoop. So, yea I think what happened with Womanby Street can only go from strength to strength with Corbyn behind us.

Are you more of a live band or studio band?

We’re definitely more of a live band um, you know we don’t rehearse as much as we should. It’s like being in a relationship and going to the gym. You’ve got something good and just because you’re in a good relationship doesn’t mean that you should let yourself go, that’s what it’s kind of like. We should rehearse more, but we don’t. So, a lot of the time, we just make shit up on stage. Like I’ve said previous to this… It just works man. When me and Matt get up on stage, even if we fucking hate each other, it just fucking works, it just clicks. So, I would definitely say, definitely say that we’re more of a live band. But, hopefully with new recordings coming out, we’re gonna experiment now and hopefully get our studio tracks down and start to branch out a bit.
