TIME AFTER TIME. Two. | Page 43

So, on the 28th of June we’ve got our belated EP launch – it’ll be our second EP “Hang on a Minute”, oh no… “Hang on a Second” – I forgot the name of it then because it’s been so long. We’ve been trying to get this out for a while, it’s been a bit of a crazy couple of months but yea. It’s been out on Spotify and I-tunes for a while and its doing quite well. But now we’re just doing some physical copies and we’ve got that coming up. Couple of shows around Cardiff and hopefully as soon as we get these physicals sorted and the sunshine’s out and bright we’ll get down that London, get down that M4 and then play up Leeds cause we’ve got friends up there, get down Bristol and hopefully just spread our wings and take over the M4.

Which songs do you perform most frequently and why? Do you ever play any covers?

We play all of our stuff and obviously originals a lot. You’ll always hear us play “Down by The River” which was one of the first songs that Matt came up with. Amazing song which is out now on Spotify and I-Tunes – it’s a part of the first EP “Give us a Minute”. We always play the first two EP’s religiously – you know, like with songs like “Last Orders” we usually end on that or “Dash” which is a crazy, fucking two-minute sprint – that’s why we called it “Dash”. Also, yea we do like to play a couple of covers, which will be in the form of covers that not many people know like say… “Cocaine” which is an old traditional song about said drug. We also like to play “Death Letter Blues” which is by Son House, which was covered by The White Stripes. Yea we do play them like “Louie Louie”. But most of the time you’ll catch us playing our own stuff like “Get Mine” which we have a video out for on YouTube now. “Come on Now” which is a new tune. Well, an old tune that we’ve re-vamped. But yea, mostly originals, but if we do a cover we’ll do one that you’ll think is ours so we get away with it.

Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?

I think I’d be better off letting Matt answer this one. But yea, Matt will come up with the song, get the riff, and then we’ll jam it out and if it works, it works and that’s usually a good sign with a song. You don’t have to try, it just happens. If you’ve got to try too hard then it’s just not working, just leave it, let it ferment for a bit and a couple of weeks later it might work. But yea, riffs down. Lyrics down. Then you’ve got to put the beat down and then it can morph into something else, it can be a fast song, a slow song. We just but the ‘Dead Beat’ treatment on it and away we go.
