SCTW 2017 conference
concluded by MARINA
and IAMU

ast February 13, MARINA, in cooperation with the
International Association of Maritime Universities
(IAMU) successfully concluded its SCTW 2017: Coping
With New Standards in MET at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza.
The event was well attended, thanks to the enthusiastic
presence and support of executives from several
shipping and manning entities, maritime institutions
and MARINA staffers. Several distinguished guests and resource
persons from the maritime industry from both here and abroad
made their different presentation on the current status of maritime
educational programs.
From Denmark, Jan Askholm, Vice-President of the Svendborg
International Maritime Academy showed higher education programs
being undertaken in Europe as well as trends in future demands
foe competencies vis-à-vis STCW compliance and R7D, while from
Croatia, Prof. Damir Zec presented programs and measures being
undertaken in his home country.
