Nakakeeto expressed her gratitude for the hard work these volunteers have done , especially given their overwhelming results . In 2023 alone , 587 volunteers collected more than 694 bags of trash ; in 2022 , the board ’ s volunteers collected 607 bags , and in the year before that , even as the community was coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic , volunteers came together to wrap up 408 bags of trash .
“ It is very interesting to see that we have a lot of trash on the roads , and really we need a lot of hands to keep this place clean ,” Nakakeeto said . “ If we ’ re not collecting this litter on the road , what would Tifton be looking like ?”
In addition to flowering plants and other beautiful bushes , Keep Tift Beautiful ’ s community garden grows plenty of vegetables that are donated back to the Tifton community .
