Great Work is performed not by strength, but by perseverance. LET THE JUMPING BEGIN! The first leg of the Stewart’s Leagues and the Hi-Pro Grand Prix took place at Caymanas Polo Club on March 29th and March 30th, marking the start of the Jumping show season. The winners are as follows: Stewart’s Low League Annie Stewart on Domino representing Ponderosa Stewart’s Medium League Victoria Jones on Alex representing Kingston Polo Club Stewart’s High League Sophia Asher on Jiggy representing Kingston Polo Club Hi-Pro Grand Prix Jason Walter on Jiggy representing Ponderosa PRIZES BEING AWARDED BY OUR LOCAL JUDGE AND EFJ BOARD MEMBER, ANTHONY PASMORE SHOW IN WELLINGTON PRIZE GIVING AT CARIBBEAN INVITATIONAL AND FRIENDLY VOLLEYBALL MATCH The second annual Caribbean Invitational competition took place on April 1st-6th. The USEF and Palm Beach International Equestrian Centre organized the event, inviting two riders from each island (Jamaica, Trinidad, Cayman, Barbados and Bermuda). The event is organized so that a Caribbean Rider is paired with a rider from the USA (14-16 years old). Caribbean riders are paired with their partners based on their borrowed horses that are randomly drawn. This year, there were 18 riders in all. Described by our riders as ‘horse central’, it is mind boggling to behold this facility. This year, Bermuda could send only 1 rider and so we were permitted to send 3 riders. Sarah Misir, Claire Schwapp and Sophia Asher, represented Jamaica, and were accompanied by Susan Wates. Sarah Misir placed 2nd on the first day and 3rd overall. Claire Schwapp placed 4th on the second day. Congratulations girls on your successes. It must have been an experience of a lifetime! ‘Riding, Shopping, Dropping, Fun, Repeat’ 3
