busy, busy, busy! Patricia A. Massie is sill volunteering at the Animal Welfare League of Arlington (23 years) and enjoys walking dogs in her condo complex. Michael Prejean is still ballroom dancing twice a week, biking, kayaking & camping. Bonnie Roberts is looking forward to our 50th reunion. “Can’t believe it’s almost here. I’ve retired from the printing/publishing world after 40 some years and am wondering where my next adventure will be!” 1962 Joanne Hobbs Jaccaci has written a book entitled: 21st Century Learning Communities. Catherine Roberts Larkin is moving to Ocean Park early 2010! Margaret Colomb Reed recently returned from a 10 day trip to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Four Corners & Zion along with her niece Penny Colomb. Margaret had an enjoyable reunion trip to Vermont with a cousin, Paula Fields Kerm, and her sister, Shirley Colomb Wells ’69. 1963 Sally Stoddard Dearborn and husband, Jere, are fully retired now. Their youngest grandchild started high school this year and their oldest is in her second year of college. Both of their children are running the family business. Leslie Haas Koelsch retired in June 2008 after 35 years with the Newark California United School District as special education teacher (8 years), program specialist (11 years) and Director of Special Education (16 years). Enjoying retirement and always comes east in the summer to find antiques! Leslie is currently serving on San Francisco’s Civil Grand Jury. 1964 Paul Callahan and wife, Jeanne Mondor Callahan ’65, have become residents in Naples, Florida and will return to Maine during the summer and fall. Michael Petit continues to run Every Child Matters, a national organization in Washington, DC, devoted to making investments in children as a political priority. Terry Philbrick is living in North Carolina and has seven grandchildren. 1965 Jeanne Mondor Callahan and husband, Paul Callahan ’64, have Postscripts • 18 become residents in Naples, Florida and will return to Maine during the summer and fall. Norman R. Dubois tells Thornton “congrats to the golf team (again)”! Norman played golf in 1964 and 1965. His son, Chris, is a lawyer in San Francisco. His daughter, Renee, teaches at Hall School in Portland. Norman states, “I’m proud to be alumnus of TA and proud of its present successes”. Ron Forest is in the process of building a Kiwanis Club for the Saco River Valley Area and hopes to start a student led key club at Thornton. This will help students earn service hours and leadership skills. James Sait retired in October 2009, after 23 years with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District. James and his wife, Linda, celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary earlier this month. James tells us, “I’m loving not getting up at O dark thirty to go to work.” 1966 Karen Hadiaris Scontras and husband, Ted Scontras ’67, celebrated the marriage of their daughter Michelle Scontras Dupuis ’02 to Jason T. Dupuis ’03 on October 10, 2009. William F. Stacey is still kicking around in Virginia waiting for the next reunion. 1967 Class Agent: James E. She was born in Jiangxi, China in October 2008 and came to the US in August 2009. Richard Kochis is currently working as a phychiatic social worker at Marquette Michigan General Hospital. He is living near the South Shore of Lake Superior. David W. O’Brien was re-elected Board Chair of the State of Maine Elevator and Tramway Saftey Board. Ted Scontras and wife Karen Hadiaris Scontras ’66, celebrated the marriage of their daughter Michelle Scontras Dupuis ’02 to Jason T. Dupuis ’03 on October 10, 2009. 1968 John Knox is serving his second year as a member of the Board of Governors, Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston. John has been an active Mason and Shriner, serving as Master of Saco Lodge in 1979 and is currently serving on the Board of Directors for KORA Shriners in Lewiston as Chief Rabban. John resides in Windham with his wife, Becky. They have three grown children and five grandchildren. 1969 Ronald Berube retired from the United States Marine Corps after 27 years of service as a Colonel. Ronald was the Commanding Officer of Presidential Helicopter Squadron HMV-1, President Clinton’s main helicopter. He now works for Lockheed Martin Corp. Shirley Colomb Wells had an enjoyable reunion trip to Vermont with a cousin, Paula Fields Kerm, and her sister, Margaret Colomb Reed ’62. 1970 Roger Bergeron’s daughter, Marie Ann Bergeron, married Steve Gonneville ’94 on September 5, 2009. Selina Koutoulakos is working on the mental health unit in Southern Maine Medical Center (SMMC) in Biddeford. Patricia McMullen wishes “Happy New Year to all my classmates! Who can believe we are now in our 50’s”! 1971 David Dardano bought a small vineyard in Italy two years ago. He will have his first wine in October 2010.
