submitted from his son, Bruce
H. Dyer. As follows: “Mr. Herbert
W. Dyer, Jr. who graduated from
Thornton Academy in 1936 passed
away on September 8, 2009 at
12:45 p.m. in Kenner, Lousianna.
I am his son, and several months
ago he made me promise to let
Thornton know when he passed
away, so the information would
be in the Alumni Newsletter. I am
sending this information to you
to fulfill my promise to him. My
dad was very proud of Thornton
Academy, and he spoke about
his days there many times. He is

and 2 grandchildren. He had
been happily married to his wife
Lorraine of sixty years who had
passed away about 5 years ago.
Thank you for helping me fulfill
my promise to my Dad, Bruce H.
