When the weather turns cold , he goes to his house at Lake Aldred , Pa . He still works part-time at Home Depot . He is enjoying his new lease on life which he has received by having both knees replaced .
Larry Ohm has been keeping close to home through this COVID epidemic . He goes out to doctors appointments and occasional meals . He also stops by his Knights of Columbus Chapter to rub elbows with his old friends .
Louie Pitonyak has made good progress in rehab where his medical team has corrected a double vision problem . The correction was accomplished by arranging prisms in the eye ware that bend the light to counter the problem . Another part of the rehab was Louie being asked to pick a subject and talk impromptu and continuously about it for 35 minutes with no cheat sheets . Very few , if any , could do it . At 51 minutes they begged him to stop ! They didn ’ t know Louie well . His reward to himself was a trip to Florida with the family .
One more Florida story is from Wayne Swinehart . Wayne is going to his favorite place at New Smyrna Beach at the end of March . Wayne ’ s brother , Bill 6W4 , has lived there for a long time . Wayne plans to take it easy and do some lazy fishing in a back bay . After fishing , he will treat himself to a couple of cold ones at a local watering hole . While discussing getting older , Wayne ’ s take on it is , any problems he may have are treatable and he just accepts them and moves on . Good attitude !
As for me , I had my second shoulder replaced in February . I timed it to fit around the Daytona 500 and the other speed week races plus the Olympics . Might as well have some entertainment to take my mind off of it !
I received a note that our classmate Ed Stark passed away on Jan . 24 , 2022 . Rest in peace , Ed .

Darrell and Barbara Sill ( the Harry Truman impersonator ) comments , not much to report from sunny Mechanicsburg at this time . The winter is winding down and our granddaughter is finishing up her first year at Penn State . Fortunately , we didn ’ t have much snow this year , and my trusty snow blower is sitting on the front porch waiting for the “ call to action ,” but not yet ( as of Feb . 21 )! I saw the notice from WTS that the school is going to have Alumni Day this year on June 4th . Barbara and I plan to be there to see some old buddies and check out the Free School Campus while we still ( B-49 ) have some time left .
