Susan C . Waller , Ed . D .

Vice President of Research and Assessment
Susan Waller , Ed . D ., vice president of research and assessment , brings to her position a great deal of educational experience .
She says she came to Williamson because she was well aware of its reputation and how well things are run here . She is looking forward to being part of the Williamson family .
She began her career as a co-adjutant instructor and tutor at Delaware County Community College in Media , Pa . She then became an adjunct instructor at Northeastern Christian Junior College in Villanova , Pa ., before becoming a full-time instructor and then an assistant professor .
She then went to the Christian Academy in Brookhaven , Pa ., as a high school English instructor , Widener University in Chester , Pa ., as an instructor of college writing in the Writing Center and English Department , and Cabrini College in Radnor , Pa ., as a Writing Center coordinator and adjunct faculty member in the English and Communications Department .
Next , she went back to Widener as an adjunct assistant professor in the Center for Education , and then the Christian
Academy as director of Curriculum and Professional Development , K-12 language arts coordinator , and Media Center writing specialist .
She earned a bachelor of arts degree in English at Grace College in Winona Lake , Ind ., which included a semester of study abroad in Warnborough College in Oxford , U . K . where she studied British literature and music ; a master of arts degree in English at Hunter College of the City University of New York , in New York City ; and a master of education degree in adult education and a doctorate of education in higher education leadership at Widener University .
She earned her master ’ s degree evenings while working as an editorial assistant for War Cry , the Salvation Army ’ s publication in northern New Jersey .
She also gained administrative experience at the Christian Academy and Cabrini College .
In 1993 , the Northeastern Christian Junior College Student Government Association named her Teacher of the Year .
She was a member of a Middle States Association of Colleges and School Accreditation team at the Renaissance
Charter Academy in Phoenixville , Pa ., and the Ranney School in Tinton Falls , N . J .
Waller grew up in Trainer , Pa ., and graduated from Chichester High School .
In her youth , she was very involved in music , singing in choirs at school and church . Singing with the Word of Life youth group , twice she went to a national competition in the Adirondack mountains of New York , placing first in the ninth grade for piano solo . She points out that the mother of Tom Wisneski , the vice president of research and assessment who vacated the position that she filled , was her teacher .
She especially enjoys serving as an accompanist on piano .
While working at the Christian Academy , she met her husband , John , who had two stints as Williamson ’ s head football coach . They were married in 1994 .
She says in a way , she and her husband are both coaches in that they greatly enjoy helping people be the best they can be .

Her mother-in-law was Rita Waller , the long-term dorm manager of George Dorm . Also , her husband ’ s oldest son , John , studied at Williamson , but left before graduating to pursue employment , and his other son , Jeff , studied horticulture at Williamson , graduating in 1996 . They also had a son together , Brady .
In her spare time , she is an active member of the Blue Church in Springfield where she plays piano and is a worship leader , and enjoys reading mysteries , especially British mysteries .
She also has a special needs brother who lives with them that she cares for .

Trevor R . Hopper , P . E .

Vice President of Operations
Trevor Hopper , P . E ., brings to his position at Williamson a great deal of engineering experience gained in the U . S . Army , which included deployments to Afghanistan , Iraq , and Kuwait , and management experience in a business .
He says he came to Williamson because he likes the school ’ s mission and that students are instilled with good

character traits . “ Williamson has a community atmosphere that makes you feel like you are part of a team and you can be yourself . The people here are always willing to give you a hand if you need help .”
Hopper earned a bachelor of science degree in environmental engineering at the United States Military Academy at West Point and , after graduating , became an engineering intern with the Army ’ s Corps of Engineers followed by taking an engineer officer basic course .
He then was deployed to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom as a platoon leader for one year . He supervised 37 soldiers and was responsible for 20 construction projects .
He then was deployed to Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan as an operations officer for 15 months . He was responsible for coordinating projects with six contributing agencies and ten unit organizations .
Next , as an engineer officer , lieutenant colonel in the Army Reserves , he served as USACE project manager and engineer , operations officer in Philadelphia ,
and as a detachment commander at Ft . Meade , Md .
He served two deployments to Kuwait , each for nine months . As company commander of Camp Buehring , he supervised 200 employees .
His next position was as a project manager at the Veterans Health Administration in Lebanon , Pa . He then returned to West Point as a resident engineer with the U . S . Army Corps of Engineers .
Next , he served as operations manager at Birchcraft Kitchens in Reading , Pa ., managing a residential custom cabinet manufacturing plant .
He has volunteered with the Kuwait Association for Care of Children Hospital , the Kuwait Special Olympics , as a compeer for the Mental Health Association of Rockland County , N . Y ., and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes .
He earned an MBA at Webster University in St . Louis , Mo ., and took an advanced course at the Command and General Staff College .
Hopper grew up in Keller Texas and graduated from Keller High School
where he excelled in sports , including football , basketball , and track .
After graduating , wanting to continue playing sports , he played Division 1 football and track at West Point . He was a safety and receiver on Army ’ s football team for one year and ran track all four years . He was the conference champion three years and is proud that they beat Navy all four of those years .
He has been running since fifth grade and was the district state champion in the 300 hurdles . He specialized in hurdles , but also competed in the long jump , relays , and triple jump .
He continues his interest in running and is currently training for a half marathon and hopes after that to complete a full marathon .
He and his wife Christina live in New Holland , Pa ., and have two daughters , Savannah and Scarlet .
His wife serves as a mentor to military spouses , leading Bible studies , and volunteers at their daughter ’ s school .
He is an active member at Petra Church and coaches high school sports .
