HELPING WOMEN IN NEED
VIVIEN RENDINA , RAY WHITE NEWCASTLE LAKE MACQUARIE NSW
" Over the last few months of growing homelessness within our region , we have been actively assisting Jenny ’ s Place , a non-profit organisation that houses women and children in need who are escaping domestic violence and homelessness .
From our current available homes , we have been able to provide a good financial range of properties to support this organisation , allowing women to get back on their feet faster and find their independence to live in a more secure and safe environment again .
I personally came across a lady called Darl who was in the Jenny ' s Place program . Darl had found herself in unpleasant situations leading to her homelessness and separation from her children . She had been in Jenny ' s Place for quite some time and had been working hard to secure ongoing employment . I knew when she had travelled two hours on public transport just to see the place that there was something special about her , and she was the first from this program we assisted . When Darl had the news of her acceptance she broke down in tears thanking us for all were doing . It humbled me and reminded me of the good that exists , and that we can be a huge part in helping people in the right direction .
Within a few weeks , this led to us helping another three women in the Jenny ' s Place program ."
GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND FOR A RENTER IN NEED
TONI ANTONIOU , RAY WHITE OAKLEIGH VIC
" Our renter was in a bad way ; lost his job , fell into heavy debt and couldn ' t pay his rent ."
The owner , although she felt sorry for the renter and tried to hold on as long as she could to assist , eventually had to instruct us to serve the renter with an eviction notice .
Having formed a relationship with the client over the course of the tenancy , I could see that the renter needed assistance and knew he was a professional gardener by trade .
I made contact with a friend of mine who works as a gardener for a reputable business .
I asked about the possibility of the business employing the renter as a member of their team , to assist him financially and get him back on his feet .
It would have been easy for me to not get involved , however my heart kicked in and I was trying to find ways of assisting a client in need , especially when I had personal contacts in the line of work that the renter specialised in .
The renter was very grateful to us for assisting him . The renter and I are still in contact and have formed a strong relationship over this experience ."
