RENTAL PROVIDER WITH A CAUSE
LISA D ’ AGOSTINO , RAY WHITE PRESTON VIC
A humble one bedroom unit in Melbourne ' s north went under the hammer in October , with the entire sale amount of $ 452,000 going to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Centre in honour of the rental provider ' s late wife Vikki . The Ray White Preston team also ran the sale for free , as did all the advertising and legal suppliers .
For Lisa D ' agostino , who looked after the investment property , it is more than just another property sale .
" This is a client I ’ ve had for about 20 years that followed me to Ray White when I joined seven years ago . But he ’ s been a long time vendor with our sales department , even before I started , he was selling his properties with our sales teams . When the renter moved out , the vendor John decided it was the perfect time to sell and honour his wife ," Lisa said . Our team and John reached out to all the suppliers , and everyone was happy to support John and honour Vikki ’ s memory . John has used a lot of the suppliers over the years , so it was an instant yes from everyone ." Lisa said .
The seller John said “ this year is the 10 year anniversary of Vikki ’ s passing of cancer . And this is to honour Vikki .
Lisa said , " For me personally , I ’ ve known the entire family for so long , and it means so much to be involved . I ’ ve seen the family go through good times and extremely tough times . And this cause hits very close to home for me too . As a company , we were so excited to help John honour Vikki and support the Olivia Newton-John research centre .
The charity were there to receive the cheque on auction day , and were sincerely surprised and grateful for John ’ s generous donation . Vikki was a patient at the Olivia Newton-John cancer centre through her long battle with cancer ."
FINDING A HOME FOR A FAMILY OF 12
SOPHIE BRIDGES , RAY WHITE CRANBOURNE VIC
" The Ray White Cranbourne team recently had the pleasure of working with prospective renter and her family , who were facing significant challenges in their search for a rental home .
With 12 members in their family , the stress of finding suitable accommodation was overwhelming , especially given the limited options for larger groups and the reluctance of many landlords to accept them .
Our leasing consultant Sophie truly went above and beyond in supporting them during this tough time . After hearing about the family ' s struggles and their numerous rejections , she took the initiative to personally reach out to Liana .
They had a heartfelt conversation about their specific needs and preferences , allowing Sophie to understand just how important this search was for the family .
Sophie quickly recognised the family ' s impeccable rental history and how well they maintained their current home , which was treated like a display property . Understanding the urgency of their situation , Sophie acted swiftly when she learned about a rental that was about to go online . She reached out to the owners to ask if she could bring Liana and her family through the property off-market .
Thanks to Sophie ’ s proactive approach , the family fell in love with the home and submitted their application immediately . The owners accepted their application , providing a muchneeded solution for Liana and her family ."
STEPPING UP IN TIMES OF CRISIS
TAMARA DILLON , RAY WHITE MANNING VALLEY NSW
" In late 2019 , our local regions were devastated by severe fires . The fallout left many families and individuals homeless , as they had to leave their homes and seek refuge in the town hall . Due to the remote location , there were very limited supplies and no phone service or power to call for immediate help . As my family and I are local to the area , I felt like I needed to step up and help my community ."
" While I wasn ' t able to assist in relocating residents due to low vacancy rates , I still wanted to help . Within the next 24 hours I organised a collection drive and my family were able to deliver two car loads of food , water , nappies , pet food , and other vital supplies . I also managed to raise $ 650 from other locals , businesses and our own staff . This was able to provide three meals a day for not only the residents but also the volunteer firefighters for a further 10 days ."
" During this time , I was also responsible for managing not just my regular portfolio but several properties that were impacted by the fires . Thankfully , all the tenants and houses remained safe , however , we faced significant challenges concerning the supply of drinking water . The water reserves had either been depleted in efforts to save the homes or were inaccessible due to road closures or damages preventing truck deliveries . I collaborated closely with the local Rotary Club to arrange water trucks and a load of bottled water to be delivered to homes that couldn ' t be reached ."
