Rock ‘n’ Roar 5K Delivered on Its Promise
Special to THE VIEW 38002
Many had asked about it, so
LEF brought back the annual 5K,
promising to make it better than
ever…and they did!
Saturday, September 29th,
was a perfect day for a race!
There were 241 registered
participants for the Lakeland
Education Foundation’s Rock ‘n’
Roar 5K.
The LMPS band (pictured
righ) kept participants entertained
with “Land of 1000 Dances” and
“Louie, Louie” prior to the race
and played the National Anthem
just before the start of the race.
Orangetheory Fitness coaches
were on hand to warm up the
runners and Mike the Balloon
Man was a huge hit, making all
sorts of things for kids of all ages,
and a few of the adults too. He
made rabbits, octopuses, swords
and more!
Steve Schad, a talented
guitarist, played original songs
and some favorite classic rock
songs.
He
kept
runners
entertained as they finished the
5K.
Sprouts provided post-race
snacks for the runners, and a food
truck was on hand for those who
wanted something more.
