#GlobalMakerDay @ LSS
Students in Ms. Kilpatrick’s (Lakeland Elementary School) and Mr.
Stearnes’s class (Lakeland Middle Preparatory School) participated in several
#GlobalMakerDay challenges last month. Worldwide, over 38 countries and
1,000 classrooms were involved in this event.
Above: students in Ms. Kilpatrick’s classes created catapults as they
“launched” into their new novel studies. They analyzed connections between
various story elements and they also put their growthmindset research into
practice as they worked through their challenges.
Below: Mr. Stearnes’s classes focused on the imagine and plan stages of
the engineering design process as students designed the lightest possible
package which will protect a potato chip through a rigorous testing phase of
dropping, shaking, rattling, and kicking. Photos courtesy of LSS.
