Gustavo Iglesias , senior trader , Bestinver Gustavo Iglesias joined Bestinver in March of 2019 as an equity trader . Based in Madrid , Gustavo trades global equities and leads the firm ’ s TCA efforts . Furthermore , he is responsible for the development and implementation of the new portfolio management system / order management system , which is now in use on the trading desk and is scheduled to be introduced to the PMs in Q4 .
Recently , Gustavo seamlessly stepped in to cover the role of head of desk , after his colleague was out with a medical issue for a period of five months . Colleagues praise his efforts during this time , stating Gustavo “ successfully navigated the challenging first half of the year , trading global markets by himself , hiring and training a new junior trader and at the same time … having to represent trading in internal risk and compliance meetings , as well as present Bestinver ’ s semiannual traders meeting with the CIO ”. Counterparties on the sell-side add “ with 10 years experience on the sell-side , his previous experience has helped shape the trading desk at Bestinver … A true buy-side trading talent !” Prior to Bestinver , Gustavo spent over six years working as a sales trader covering UK and US clients . He is a CFA Charterholder .

Karan Kapoor , multi-asset trader , Canada Life Karan Kapoor joined Canada Life in September 2020 and works as a multi-asset trader , covering global equities , ETFs , fixed income and FX . Karan has worked closely with the trading team , driving efforts to improve execution and provide market analysis . “ Karan is a great trader who has added significantly to the trading desk at Canada Life since he joined around two years ago . Karan holds a BSc in Mathematics , an IMC and a Certificate in Quantitative Finance ( CQF ). Prior to Canada Life Karan worked at BlueCrest Capital Management and HSBC IB . He also spent four years in East Africa where he built a biodiesel refinery .
