Cornelia is a changemaker who champions women creators through groups she ' s founded , grants she ' s initiated , and programs she ' s delighted to support .
As a multi-hyphenate creator herself , she draws inspiration from several fields in which she ' s worked , including film , musical theater , journalism , and visual art . Her family comes from Eastern Europe , South Asia , Scandinavia , and the Middle East and embraces all five of the world ' s major religions , bringing a range of influences to everything she supports or creates .
Her work has been performed at Lincoln Center , the Kennedy Center and regional theaters , published in Asia and the US , and screened at over 70 festivals . She recently wrote a comedy for Academy Awardwinning producer Charles B . Wessler ( GREEN BOOK ).

Prior to that , she produced the awardwinning documentary MOVING STORIES ( Amazon Prime ) and the hit off-Broadway play NIRBHAYA , a NY Times Critic ' s Pick . Previously , she was a journalist and cultural critic , including a stint as US Correspondent for India Today , India ' s leading news magazine .
Being a connector is one of her great joys . She started in the 1990s with monthly gettogethers at the National Arts Club for arts and entertainment professionals . Later , she hosted monthly events at Ismail Merchant ' s restaurant Pondicherry for foreign correspondents and diplomats . More recently , she founded a women producers group in her living room ; it became Women Independent Producers , which now has over two hundred members .
