FEATURED MOTHER OF FILM

“ I want to create , see and consume regenerative stories - stories that inspire the possibility of healing and wholeness on our planet .”

Morna MacGillivray

Founder of Revolutionary Woman Global

Morna ’ s superpower is “ seeing other peoples superpowers , especially when those superpowers are seeds just waiting for the right conditions to burst through .”
When asked about pieces of media that are inspiring to her , she comments that the movies she watches “ all feature determined and resilient female characters . There is a scene from the movie Gravity that I must have watched , I dunno , definitely hundreds of times - in the movie the main character is a female scientist / astronaut who needs to find her way back to Earth after her spaceship is destroyed . It ' s a wild ride following her as she makes it back to earth , only to nearly drown as her escape pod floods with water right at the end . Whenever I need to be reminded that I can do hard things and that it ' s worth doing hard things , the last fifteen minutes of this movie is my go to !”
Morna is passionate about stories that inspire healing and wholeness . “ So much of the media that comes at me ( and it often feels like a fire-hose ) positions me and my existence as something and someone that needs to be ' fixed ' and I ' m so tired of being baited into chasing that rabbit . I ' m tired of media and stories that position my womanhood through the lens of perpetual victim needing to be rescued or there to support the real hero of the story . It ' s so boring and worse than that , actively harmful .”
