Summer Sessions

Mr. Dummytons

Summer, it’s the time for laying by the
pool side, getting a tan, eating ice cream,
and fencing our hearts out! Over the
summer we have been holding summer
session for current members of the club.
While many of us have been spread all
over, a few were able to come together
for a short time and fence. Sadly, the
Summer Sessions came to a close when it
came time to paint the club room. David
Deitz Had this to say about the Summer
Sessions:

One day, when I was all by myself, I
was trying to work on my point
control. As I started, I had a difficult
time in figuring out the points to hit
on the plain mannequin. That’s when I
had a light bulb of an idea! I pulled
one of the old and unusable fencing
jackets we had, an old towel, and a
small roll of trash bags, and thus Mr.
Dummytons was born!

“There was a few bumps in the road with
the whole summer sessions I had planned.
I have learned quite a bit from this
experience, and hopefully next summer
will go a lot better than this summer!”

Those who were able to attend the summer
sessions for a short time were Mish and Alan. All
three had a blast working out and honing their
skills. We were even able table to get some video
