The Stabbing Gentlemen’s Report Issue #2 Summer O! This summer we had a table set up at Summer Orientation, also known as Summer O! Summer O is MSU’s orientation for new students to get familiar with the campus. In the Curris Center many clubs and organizations sets up tables and booths to show the new students the different clubs and activities they can be a part of. Mish, Alan, and David ran the table for the Fencing club to get all the incoming students excited about fencing! Doing the summer O we were able to get twenty-one new email addresses added to the mailing list. We got some great exposure, and we hope to get some new members this upcoming fall semester because of it. Almost as Good as New Summer O! Graduated club member Mish Mozeleski to the left, and veteran club member Alan Sagaskey to the right. They were a big help in getting the new students excited about fencing. Club Room Repairs and Paint Nearing the end of the past spring semester we had our club room repaired. Over the summer we got the room cleaned up and repainted! It looks great, and it’s a great feeling to see our room in a better state than what it has been in the past. We have also been able to get our hands on some new tables and chairs thanks to the staff of Carr Health and General Services! Big thanks goes out to Dr. Kelly Rogers, Chair of Carr Health, and Ms. Stacey Pittenger for helping the club getting the paint and helping us get the new furniture. “The room looks absolutely gorgeous now. Before it was so dark and dreary, but now it is lively, and people will be able to come in here believing that this is a usable space for club activities rather than being a storage room.” Vice President David Deitz stated, “It is my hopes that, with putting in so much time and work in making this an amazing space, the club morale will climb even higher, and it will show the University that we are dedicated, passionate, and driven about what we love to do most on campus and to share it with other students and staff members.” 4 It took almost two months, six buckets of paints, and a few pizzas to paint the club room. It has been completely renewed thanks to the staff of Carr Health, Thompson, Krista, Ian, Gaylan, and Dr. Drake!
