I loved listening to their stories, and how resourceful they were when they saw there was a need in the special needs community for a certain product, or service or app that not only would help their child, but other children with special needs or their families. I was amazed when I chatted with Drew Long, Founder and Creator of Caroline’s Cart. She was so passionate and driven when she set out to invent a special needs shopping cart, which would make the task of shopping easier for families of children and adults with special challenges. Her passion and determination excited me and made me want to create a platform for these women to Support…Inspire…and Share their journey and desire in becoming an entrepreneur to help their family and other families like theirs. Hence, the SpecialMoms Parenting Magazine was formed. It was my way of celebrating the women who were making an impact in the special needs community. This is our fourth issue, completing our first year of publication, and I am so blessed. Over the last year, we have interviewed over 20 motivating women and men who are advocating for their child with special needs while becoming entrepreneurs! We have shared over 30 articles on business, health, education, advocacy and more! In this issue, I spotlight a few of the women we have interviewed in the past, to celebrate where they are now in their businesses. Thank you for your love and support. Thank you to the women who shared their stories, for the contributing writers and businesses who sponsored our magazine, but more importantly I want to thank the readers. Your support has been amazing. I can’t wait to see what next year has in store for the SpecialMoms Parenting Magazine. Stay with us to find out. xo, Marla Murasko
