Beverly Worth Palomba is originally from Massachusetts where she worked in the computer
industry as a program manager. She moved
from New England and has resided in the San
Francisco Bay area for the past 25 years. She
has a husband, Dick and daughter, Gina.
Why did you decide to create this
cookbook?
When I first started teaching cooking I could not
find a cookbook that was written in a format that
addressed my students learning style. So, I decided
to write a life skills cookbook that had beginning
recipes to start with and more involved recipes once
the cooking process was learned.
When she moved to California, Bev turned
to her real love --- education. She has been a
teacher from PK through high school for more
than 20 years. In the past eleven years she has
worked exclusively in Special Education. She
created a life skills cooking class five years ago
at the local high school geared to the needs
and abilities of her students. In addition she
provides cooking workshops at local community centers. From this curriculum has come
her first book, Special Day Cooking, a life
skills cookbook which uses a unique instructional method that people with developmental challenges have responded to and enjoyed.
This book has become a labor of love.

The right hand page has the cooking directions.
Each direction is on one line starting with the ac-
