Arizona State University’ s Circle K has had a longstanding commitment to fundraising for the March of Dimes main annual event, March for Babies. In 2012 we were the top collegiate level fundraising team in the nation. This year we decided on setting a pretty ambitious goal of fundraising $ 2,500. Through mainly individual fundraising efforts, we were able to surpass the goal that was set and ended up reaching $ 2,817. Within in the club, our top fundraisers were Jared Doles, Erin Lin, and Louisa Hermes. The March for Babies event was held on April 13, 2013 in downtown Phoenix and was a 3.5 mile walk. At the actual March for Babies event, we had twelve members present and we teamed up volunteering with the March of Dimes Collegiate Council at Arizona State University. At March for Babies, all of the members split up to volunteer and help out in many ways. Some members did the actual walk, some volunteered in tents, and other members braved the heat and dressed up in mascot costumes and walked around having fun with guests. All members had a really great time, and it was really great to be able to see all the participants and enthusiasm that was present at the event. It was great to be able to celebrate with the March of Dimes as they celebrated their 75th anniversary!
