‘ Monster Machine ’ is such a multifaceted creation . Can you tell us about the talented individuals who collaborated with you on this track ? And we ’ re curious about the male voice in the background – how did that element come into play ?
I wrote it on a piano where I usually start .
I made a conscious effort over years where I studied audio engineering , I went to music school where they were into protools and others .
I think I am old school like I would like to meet people and we come together and create something . I can ’ t get lost in technology and tools .
I stay away from programming . I prefer live instruments as much as I can .
When I play live in UK , there is a Cellist and a Pianist and then we have a backing track . That is really important .
I write on the piano all the time . I then , depending on the song , work with different producers . My work has been a lot with Karan Parikh . We worked on Edge and She is a Hero together . We also write other stuff together .
I started this with Karan Kanchan as I wanted a strong rhythm production and then
I wanted the refinement from Karan Parikh .
Could you shed some light on the musical influences that inspired this unique sound ? Addi-tionally , the infusion of Tamil in ‘ Monster Machine ’ adds a special touch . How did you decide to incorporate your native language , and what does it bring to the overall composition ?
It is a love song to myself . I am a connection junkie be it musicians or actors I am working with .
Then the next level of that is experiencing attraction , love , sensuality and sexuality .
