It’s not something to take lightly. Most of us have been on one side or the other when it comes to bullying. I was picked on when I was a kid, and I can tell you, it wasn’t fun. In this day and age, bullying is something that has gotten much worse now that people can hide behind a computer or cell phone and cyber bully.
With story after story of young teens taking their lives because of bullying, it gets harder and harder to handle. This article is for all of you who are dealing with being bullied..and bullies: stick around till the end of the article, you may learn something.
Things to know about someone who is bullying you: Bullies want to have power and control over you. This stems from their home life and their up bringing. Someone who is relentlessly harassing and bullying you has underlying issues. NEVER FORGET – Bullies are actually MORE vulnerable than you are. They need to feel smarter, stronger, and better than you so they can feel better about themselves. They also usually lash out when embarrassed so I suggest ignoring them all together. They want a rise out of you and if you give it them, they win. Find an adult or teacher and even a police officer to help you. Be the better and bigger person, because in 10 years, none of it will matter. Bullies, if they don’t change, end up being rude people who have no real friends. You’ll be the one smiling with your loving and supporting family.
People tend to forget that bullying is harassment. If grown adults bully someone, they can be charged with physical or emotional abuse. So why are people so lenient when it comes to bullying kids and teens? Well, people tend to shrug it off to ‘Kids will be kids’ … Simply not true.
