Cyber-bullying is a newer, evolved form of bullying. With people’s face stuck in to their smartphones, Cyber bullies don’t have to deal with the looks on their victims faces. To see HOW they made these people feel. At a young age, it’s important to know what it’s like when you do something and see how it is received, positive or negative. You have to deal with what you did and figure out how to never do it again. Mistakes are lessons. But behind a computer screen, there are no repercussions, no domino effect of emotions, making us numb to all emotions .

And for you bullies…the older ones know better…grown up, you’re embarrassing the new generation. For you young bullies….there’s still time to fix this. You’re young , full of energy, and you need to realize that you don’t need to hurt people to make yourself feel better. I hope more than anything that your parents are reading this because they are a vastly important piece of this puzzle. Teach your kids that bullying is wrong and how to properly treat another human being.

Finally, I don’t want to point fingers to the schools but I feel that Anti-Bullying should be a MANDATORY course in schools across the country. I mean, what is more important in today’s society? Learning to treat each other with respect and learning how to cope with bullies…or knowing how to cook a grade school level chocolate cake?

Food for thought indeed…

In the words of Ernest Hemmingway:

"There is nothing noble about being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.”
