Goodluck in Retirement, Mr. Ellis. You Will be Missed. During the interview, an eruption of applause and laughter occurred outside of Ellis’ office from the front office staff regarding an unknown event. Ellis took this opportunity to illustrate just what he meant about the honor at this school. “See what I mean?” he asked indicating the faculty members. “It’s just wonderful how respectful everyone is to each other.” Does he take credit for this atmosphere, though? “I can take little to no credit for the way people treat each other [around here],” he said, anticipating this question. “It’s truly of a Mayberry quality,” Ellis added (recalling the Andy Griffith Show’s simplistically blissful setting). “We have such great kids – well, young adults, really – and such a wonderful staff to match. There’s no way I could take credit for that.” Ellis’ humility ceased only to propel his image as the fantastic leader this school was so lucky to have received. Ellis’ plans for retirement include plenty of golfing with a foray into world travel. “I’d like to go to Europe with my wife,” he said smiling. Aside from that, Ellis
