SPORT // BOYS ’ CRICKET

U14 XI

* Yorkshire Cup Quarter Finalists
A wonderful season for the U14 cricket team , with some delightful individual performances coming from all areas of the squad .
We ’ ve been blessed with a good , relatively dry , summer to date ( famous last words !) and have thus enjoyed a full and comprehensive fixture card – along with a decent cup run , which has been a breath of fresh air after the previous two Covid-affected summers .
A satisfying feature , this season , has been the size and depth of the squad ,

U12 XI

A big , keen group of cricketers with a terrific attitude to the game and to each other . A mixed season in terms of results , with some heavy losses , convincing wins , and close finishes . Excitement was never far away .
which has allowed us to rotate players where necessary , whilst providing several of the boys an opportunity to play A team cricket for the school .
A great attribute of theirs has been their ability to bat down the order and make runs quickly – which has got us out of trouble on more than one occasion !

The whole squad work hard in training and they play the game with a terrific spirit . A mark of the squad is how many players have captained the side , all with excellent ability and passion .

U13 XI

What can I say about the mighty U13 boys ? It has been a season of highs , with very few lows . The boys have put in brilliant performances when the time has called for it and I cannot fault a single member of the squad – each has played a significant part in the success of the team . They should be immensely proud of the season that they have had .
